As for my thoughts? Cooking and baking are sciences that require great tools.  A good thermometer will help make sure meat is on temperature so you don't get sick.  It's also great for candy making, making sure your oil is the right temperature for frying, and baking.  Many thermometers don't so up high enough to measure the temperatures for candy or oil, but this one measures up to 572ºF so it does!  It is digital so you get a fast, accurate reading.  Recommended!
