As for my thoughts?  My husbands shoes smell terrible after long days at work and on his feet.  This product is wonderful tor freshening them so my closet doesn't smell like his sweaty feet too!  I just spray them before I put them away and bingo.  It also kills any bad bacteria in there which can't be bad!
