As for my thoughts? This is a very cute and my son immediately wanted to play with it when we opened it.  He is three so the magnets sadly were mostly confusing to him.  They are basically puzzles, so rather than the magnets being one piece they are broken into several parts and come with a book that shows you how to put them together.  The wood is unfinished and the corners a little sharp.  Because of all of these reasons, I wouldn't recommend this toy for a child under the age of 5.
